Hôtel Métropole Genève

We made the booking late at night after our flight back from Geneva was cancelled, and were grateful it was available. The suite we were in was in the older part of the hotel, so while comfortable, it was a bit tired. There were a couple of faux pas one wouldn’t expect from Metropole/5-star hotel, but service recovery was good. Breakfast was good and we very much enjoyed the rooftop terrace, having drinks with the fantastic view of the lake and Jet d’Eau.

Considering the extensive refurbishment taking place at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. I was dubious about what to expect but found everything to be quite satisfactory.

The steam shower was amazing. That was something very special. Also the nice balcony with view was a plus.

The Staff from the luggage boy to the receptionists are all exceptional - service received was top notch! I had a Lifestyle room and it was spacious and modern. Got some fruits & chocolate and a hand written note upon my arrival - very personal touch =0)

As a business traveler, I get to travel to Geneva at least once or twice a month, and it was my first time staying at Metropole. After staying at all other 5 start properties, I must say Metropole beats them all as expressed by a number of factors, such as a great range of amenities, unbeatable location, modern rooms, well equipped bathrooms, delicious food and most importantly extremely helpful and welcoming staff. my two favorites were Matilde at the reception and Matilde at the rooftop upstairs. I will certainly make Metropole my home away from home whenever I return to Geneva.
